Strawberries and Summer belong to each other like cookies to Christmas. That’s why I wanted to share a Strawberry Milkshake in the Milkshake Monday series with you. As soon as German strawberries appear on the supermarket shelves, we eat them almost daily.
Of course, strawberries taste the best when you pick them by yourself. Although it’s quite exhausting, it’s a great feeling to harvest your own food by yourself. And now and then, you eat one or two berries straight from the field. Therefore, I love strawberry picking and try to go at least once every summer. Unfortunately, I had no time to go this summer yet, but it is the first point on my summer bucket list. I would also like to go to the lake, go by bike and do lots of barbecues this summer.
Strawberry Milkshake with Vanilla
100 ml of cold milk
1/2 ripe banana
70 g of strawberries
A pinch of Vanilla
Edible dried Flowers
- Cut the banana in coins, halve the strawberries and freeze them in a freezing container or freezer bag for at least 12 hours.
- The next day, blend the frozen fruit, vanilla and milk in a blender until the milkshake is smooth and all ingredients are evenly distributed. I recommend using a food processor since some blenders have difficulties with frozen ingredients. In case you haven’t got a food processor, you can let the fruit defreeze for a few minutes before mixing it in a blender.
- Pour the milkshake into a glass and decorate it at pleasure with toppings such as chopped nuts, strawberries or edible dried flowers.
Do you also have such a bucket list for summer or other seasons on which you write everything you would like to do during this time? What’s on your summer bucket list this year?
